Day 304 - Sweet!

Today was candy day!  Earlier in the year, when planning for our homeschool, today was one of the days that I'd planned to take off.  It was great sleeping in a bit, and taking care of some things that really needed to be dealt with (like Alexis' room.)

Tonight, we went to our friends house and went  Trick-Or-Treating.  It was fun.

Day 302 - Toy Land

Tonight, after the kids were in bed, I crept into their rooms to peek and make sure they were okay.  I do this every night.  :)  Anyway, I was quite amused because each of the big kids had their own little make-believe thing going on.  Alexis had her Barbies all neatly tucked into their bed with a washcloth over them, and Ty had his Lego Star Wars guys all ready for battle.  :)

Day 299 - Through Carsten's View

You can find odd things on your camera when you pull all the pictures off.  It looks like Carsten got a hold of mine at some point...  Good thing his nose was cleaned out!

Day 284 - Crawfish?!

Day 282 - Corn Maze

Well, I forgot to take pictures today, so I will just borrow some from yesterday.  Carsten's birthday was such a beautiful and warm day.  We went to the local orchard and "enjoyed" the Corn Maze.  This thing is nuts - the corn is over your head and the whole maze is 5 acres!  Not our  most brilliant move, let me tell you!

I also took school pictures today.  It was such a gorgeous day.  We found the toad while taking the pictures!

All three kiddos!

Day 279 - Artist Impressions

The kids learned about the famous painter Paul Cézanne today in Art Class.  Cézanne was famous for pictures of "depth" and so the kids looked at his paintings and still life images of pumpkins, hay stacks & apples we'd created and made a fantastic attempt at creating a painting in his style.  It was so neat to watch them!

Day 278 - Journal Time

Each day, the kids get to write in their own personal journal.  Sometimes I give them a topic, and other times they are free to write what ever they wish.  Today, their topic was "My Favorite Time of the Day is...."

Day 275 - Gettin' Ready

Carsten is sick today (fever and cough) so he's home with me.  Here's all three kids this morning before the big kids left to go to church with their dad.

The story of the band-aid, in case you were curious - I took the kids to McDonald's playland yesterday to burn off some energy and Alexis somehow hit her head inside of it.  She came out, calm as could be and told me she'd hit her head.  What she didn't see (that I did!) was the ton of blood streaming down her face.  I calmly took her to the bathroom to clean her up and she saw the blood and freaked out.  All is well now that we have a band-aid.  :)
