Day 241 - Lickin' the Plate

I guess Carsten really enjoyed the pancakes and scrambled eggs we had for dinner!  Here he is - licking his plate!  Yuck!

Day 240 - Seven Kids!

Our friends had a big job to do today and asked if I could keep watch on their kids while they were working.  It was no problem!  I enjoy their company and our kids love to hang out with each other!

It was a lovely day today and so we decided to hit the pool.  Aszpen, the baby, was not impressed with the water, but his older brother Talen is like a fish and loves it!

Day 239 - Promotion Sunday

So I "lost" 5 girls today from my Sunday School class!  They are now too old to come to the preschool class and now get to go down to the Super Kids church.  Alexis was one of the ones promoted and she couldn't decide if she was more scared or more happy to be moving up!  Emotions, emotions!

The Sunday School Department decided to do a Back to School Kid Carnival in celebration of the promotions.  It was great fun slaying "Goliath" and tearing down the walls of Jericho and throwing bean-bag "Jonah's" into the whale's mouth!

Here is Joshua and the Walls of Jericho!  :)

Day 238 - Shreader

For the last few days, Carsten has thought it fun to pretend he's Shreader from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  He grabs all the forks from the silverware drawer and puts one between each finger and then jumps around every saying "rarwwww!"

Day 237 - Pretty Girl

"When I am old (or young) I shall wear purple.... with a red hat, that doesn't go and doesn't suit me!"  Anyone ever heard that poem before?

Well Alexis isn't old, and I think this does go and does suit her just fine!

Day 236 - Lunch With Daddy

Josh wanted to have us come and eat lunch with him today...  it was fun to see him mid-day and the kids had a blast!

Day 235 - Borrowed Camera

My dear sweet mother-in-law is letting me borrow her camera while I work to replace mine.  She took these few pictures tonight...

Day 234 - Walking Shoes On

Josh asked tonight after dinner if we'd like to go on a walk...  It was a beautiful night, so we got the kids out and went on a stroll around the neighborhood.

Here's a picture I snapped of the kids with my phone...

Can you see all three of them?

Day 233 - Sleep Over

Well first of all, somehow, my camera broke today!  Carsten was taking pictures (which he likes to do sometimes) and a while later, I realized the camera was open, laying on the floor.  I picked it up, and of course now it won't collapse into itself, and it makes this awful clicking sound.  Great.  So, while we figure out how to replace the camera, I'm using my not-so-great phone camera.

Tonight, Josh was tucking the kids into bed and a while later I went up.  He said that Tyrus and Carsten wanted to have a Sleep Over in Ty's room.  Carsten was SO excited!  Of course, I wanted to take a lot of pictures (but at this point, I hadn't realized about my phone camera...)  Later on, I went to check on them and found Carsten like this:

Somehow, he'd wiggled out of the sleeping bag that he'd been in before.  So, I went and got his Curious George blanket and kissed both boys good-night.

Day 232 - Happy Birthday, Dennis

My father-in-law Dennis turned 54 yesterday!  We went to Red Robin last night to celebrate and it was very fun.  Today, after church, we went to Texas Roadhouse to eat, and a while later they came with this bull and saddle thing and made him climb on it while we wished him a happy birthday!  He was a good sport about it, like we knew he would be!  It was SO funny!

Day 231 - Neighborhood Party

Today, in an effort to meet more of our neighbors, we held a Neighborhod Party.  There were all sorts of fun games that the kids really got a kick out of!  This one, they had to slide an Oreo down from their head into their mouths without using their hands!  So funny!

Day 230 - Steak-N-Shake

Josh wanted to take the kids to Steak-N-Shake for dinner tonight...

Day 229 - The Park

Josh is off for the next four days!  Yay!  We took the kids to a park tonight so they could play and look at the ducks and geese.  We had a fun time.

Day 228 - Pizza Picnic

It was a lovely evening so we decided to take the kids to the park before Bible study and eat there.  Josh picked up pizza and we enjoyed the great outdoors.  It was fun...

Don't mind us - we were all chewing in each of these pictures!  Hee hee!

Day 227 - Two Lovely Ladies

My sister came over tonight and brought her boys and her neice Jayden.  We took them to the library to let them all play, and I was able to get this picture of the girls tonight!  So, so beautiful - both of them!

Day 226 - Yikes.

I have no picture for today.  Whoops.  I spent the entire day on the computer searching out curriculum for the kids...  My mind is spinning from the options!

Maybe when the books arrive, I'll take a picture of them then?

Day 224 - XBOX

One of the advantages of owning your own gaming store, is being able to borrow some of the machines and games!  Here are the guys, playing some airplane game today, and Alexis at the same time...

Day 223 - Um, something bad is happening...

...  yikes.  Tyrus loaded the dishwasher today.  A while later I went into the kitchen and gasped - apparently he'd put the wrong kind of soap into the dishwasher!  Not a good thing...

What a mess!  Gah!  Needless to say, we had a little chat about which soap to use and which soap not to use!

Day 222 - Splish, Splash

We spent two hours this afternoon with Dana and Dylan at the pool.  Dylan loves his baths at home, but wasn't quite sure about the cool pool water!
Later this evening, Destiny called to see if we wanted to go swimming!  So, we went again.  Ha!  The kids love the splash park, and spent quite a bit of time there tonight...

Day 219 - A Big Decision

So for the last little bit now, Josh and I have been trying to decide what the best plan is for our kids in terms of schooling, and we've finally decided that homeschooling will work the best for us.  Tonight I went to my friend's house to talk with her and another lady about homeschooling and all of the options in terms of curriculum that there is.  Wow, there is a lot!

Of course, I was so engrossed in the books that I didn't think to take a picture of even one of the 11 kids running around!  Ha!  Here's one I snapped super late in the evening!

Day 218 - Alexis & Carsten

Gotta love 'em!

Saturday, August 7, 2010

Day 217 - You scream, I scream...

... we all scream for ice cream!  Here is a picture of Carsten last night at our little local favorite ice cream parlor! (I realized too late that I didn't take a picture for today - mostly because the kids were with their grandparents most of the day, and I didn't think to take one.)

Hopefully this one will do!

Day 216 - Relaxin' by the pool

So I decided to try and take a self-portrait today while watching the kids swim...  Not really sure if I like the way the pictures turned out, but I don't have any better ones for today, so these will have to do!

Day 215 - All Crammed In

Destiny and I were asked to help praise sing tonight at the Deaf Camp, so we piled everyone in my van and drove up to the campgrounds!  Everyone looked so handsome/pretty that I just had to take a picture (or 32).  :)

Smile everyone!  Say 'cheese' for the camera!

Day 214 - Three Months Ago

So three months ago, my kids, mom and sister went to the museum to walk and try to get my sister's labor started.  We took some pictures that day and Dana went into labor that afternoon....

Today, we happened to go back to the museum, this time with my dad, and the 3 month old Dylan.  We thought it would be fun to recreate the original picture.

What a difference 3 months makes!
