Day 149 - Wiped Out!

We had a great day today!  We were supposed to go to the zoo but after 8+ straight days of beautiful, warm, sunny days, today on Memorial Day it decided to rain!  Ha!  Anyway, we ended up at my ILs house, along with our new found friends, the Curtis Family, and we had a great time playing games and gabbing.  The kids played hard, too, can you tell?

Remembering today with honor our fallen heros - Wesley Knapp, Theodore Ciaciuch & Randy Knapp.

Day 148 - My guy

Day 147 - Peace...

There is nothing better than the early hours of the morning when the sunshine is streaming in and everyone is still asleep... ahh.  Peace.

Day 146 - Mommy & Daughter Night

 Alexis told me last night that she'd like to do something "just with me and not the boys."  Ha!  So, Josh took the guys tonight with him to VV and I took Alexis out for a little one-on-one time.  We went to the fancy Italian place called Fazoli's and then to the mall to buy some fancy hair stuff.  It was fun. 

Day 145 - Lovely...

We walked through the walking trails yesterday and came upon this section of wild flowers.  They were so pretty we decided to stick some in Alexis' hair.  I couldn't remember which side was for 'married' and 'unmarried' so hopefully I picked the right side!

Either way, the flowers are lovely, just like she is.  I love her little toothless grin.

Day 144 - A Day with Dana & Dylan

My sis had some clothes given to her that she needed to sort through, so she brought the little guy over and made it an afternoon!  We started out at the park...

It was getting pretty hot, so we headed over to my house...  Dylan was sporting his "My Aunt Rocks" shirt that I bought for him, so we had to snap a few pictures of that...  the look on his face in this picture really cracks me up!

Later on, after he had a fully tummy, he snuggled right in to his mommy...

Ty and Lex got home from school and got right down with him.  Tyrus hadn't had a chance to meet him yet, and he thought he was pretty cool!

Day 143 - Commissions!

So the kids have been working hard this week - cleaning toilets, folding laundry, vacuuming, emptying and filling the dishwasher - you know, the fun stuff!  I've decided that they are old enough to start helping out and if they do what they're asked, without a fight, at the end of the week they will earn their commissions. 

Today was their first pay day, and how fun that was!  They are required to Give some, Spend some, and Save some.  We think it's important for them to learn early... and so we've begun.

Day 142 - Softball

Wow, what a beautiful night it was tonight...  warm, sunny and a slight breeze.  The guys in our church play softball on Monday nights, so we decided to head over and watch them.  It was fun.  Carsten dug in the dirt with his friends and the rest of us just lazed around watching the guys play...

Day 141 - And another one bites the dust...

If you check out my post from yesterday, you can tell that the little lady's front tooth was just hanging there by a thread.  Well tonight, she'd had enough and announced to her aunt Destiny "okay, I want you to pull it out!"  I grabbed her and held her (ha ha) and Destiny barely tugged it and it was outta there!  Woo hoo!

Day 140 - Family Day

We spent the day together today... it's so fun to do that.  We didn't have a lot on the agenda other than some shopping and some flower buying.  :)  We decided to stop at Angelo's - one of our favorite little eateries in our town.  Being small business owners, we like to support other people in the same boat!

While we were waiting for our food, I decided to pull out the camera and see what I could come up with...

Day 139 - Piggy Back!

The kids love to goof off with their daddy...  and to be honest, I think he likes it, too.  :)

Day 138 - Guess what?

I feel human again!  Yay!  It is so amazing how much difference a day makes.  Tuesday was miserable.  Yesterday was an improvement over miserable, and today was fantastic!  The sun was shining the whole day, I finally had energy again, and we got a LOT done!  (Not a lot happened around our house the last few days, and the house was in a horrid state... needless to say.) 

Laundry was done.  So were the dishes.  We cleaned out Alexis and Carsten's rooms and vacuumed the entire upstairs... we went shopping, oh and took Josh to work and then brought him to VV tonight...  it's been quite the day!

Here's how we ended the night - by finally planting the flowers I've been wanting to plant.  Aren't they pretty?  I did take the picture late in the evening so they may not look as brilliant as they would normally.  Still, I'm so happy to finally have put them in the dirt!

Day 137 - On the mend

So I did feel better today, but still not well enough to take pictures... shame on me.   I did take a lot of naps and watched entirely too much t.v.  Gotta love Sesame Street and Curious George.  Oh, and Food Network.  Those are all good, right?

Day 136 - Sick, sick, SICK!

Okay, so seriously, I was so sick on this day that it never once crossed my mind to take a picture. How wild is that? I literally lay on the couch, wrapped in three blankets and shivered from fever for the entire evening. Strep throat is not fun. Gah.

So now, I'm at a loss.  I have no picture to represent this day, so I guess this will have to do -

Day 135 - Ft. Livingroom

Tyrus got it in his mind today that he was going to build a fort in the living room out of couch parts, pillows, blankets and jackets.  :)  This project kept the three little piggies occupied for most of the night!  I took quite a few pictures, but none turned out all that great...  nonetheless, here is Ft. Livingroom!

Day 134 - Like Father, Like Son

Josh was trying to show Carsten something on Grandma K's phone... and I caught this great moment.  I love it!

Day 133 - A day with Alexis

Today, Alexis and I got to spend the day together.  Josh kept Ty and Carsten and Alexis and I met up with the ladies from the church for our annual Mother Daughter Outing.  We went to Middlebury, IN to the Essenhaus.  I love it there!

After that, I took her over to Dana & Andy's house to meet Dylan...  she'd been begging me for days to see him, but the time just wasn't right yet.  So finally, she got to see him.  Her words?  "He's so small!"

Such a fun day!  I love you Alexis!  Thanks for spending time with your Mama!

Day 132 - Two Handsome Gents

Josh and Ty were headed up to the Men's Conference tonight.  They both looked so handsome in their spiffy duds!  I hope they have a fun time.

Day 131 - Like a Sardine

I had the great task ahead of me tonight of going to get groceries.  Woop woop.  I felt like I should take Tyrus with me and spend some quality one-on-one time with him.  We had a great time, too. 

He asked if he could ride in the cart, which was no problem at first, but as the aisles wore on and we piled more and more stuff in the cart with him, it got a bit more challenging!  I kept asking him if he wanted to get out and he kept saying "no, I'm fine."  It started to get really funny - especially as we were getting looks from other shoppers!

Day 130 - Newborn Snuggles

Me and Carsten went today to see my sister and the new baby Dylan.  How sweet that little guy is!  He's just a little tyke and totally different than my three were.  They were all born as toddlers!  I didn't get any little ones!  Carsten was funny because he didn't want to hold Dylan at all!  I think he was nervous, and so he kept shying away. 

Anyway, we had a nice time and I helped Dana clean up her house a bit, make dinner and vacuum.  I think she enjoyed getting to snuggle with Dylan while I worked.  :)  No problem at all - new mommas need help sometimes!

Day 129 - Sweet Sleep

I realized very late today, that I'd forgotten to take my picture for today!  Whoops!  So, I snuck upstairs while all the little people were sound asleep and snapped a picture of each of them...  I love it when they sleep.  It's so peaceful to watch them and sometimes it brings tears to my eyes when I think about how much I love them!  Ahh!
