Day 312 - Plant Life Learning

Tyrus is working on a unit right now in Science about plants.  One of the cool experiements was to write your name in grass seed, cover it in dirt, water it, and watch it grow.  Well, I didn't have shallow long pans like the book suggested, so instead we tweaked it a bit and decided to just use their first initials.  We'll see how it goes!

Day 311 - Princess Pumpkins

Today our HS Princess Club met for the second time.  The girls got to paint and decorate pumpkin "coaches" for Cinderella and they also heard a Carribean version of the story!  It was great fun!

I'm glad Alexis is involved in this group because it's allowing her to explore her sparkly side.  Poor kid has a mother who is not inclined in anything sparkly at all, so this has been great for her!  :)

Day 310 - Funny Stuff

I was greatly amused today when I looked closely at Alexis' handwriting sheet... notice the word 'done' was what she was practicing, and as she got closer to the end she appeared to be super happy to be 'done'!

And here's Carsten.  He loves to use the whiteboard and markers and color all kinds of cool stuff.  That reminds me, I need to take a picture of his 'people' - they are so cute.  Anyway, he was so excited below as he showed me the "fider web" he'd drawn.  Love it!

Day 309 - Quizzing Sunday

Today, we spent all afternoon at the church working on quizzing.  It was a ton of fun and I think the kids all enjoyed it.

Here is my sister Destiny and my sister-in-law Stephanie goofing around as we ate.

Day 308 - Out to Dinner

Josh said he wanted to take us out to dinner tonight, and who was I to argue?  That meant no cooking, cleaning up afterwards, and most of all, no fussy picky eating mess that goes along with Carsten everytime we eat at home.  :)

Steak-N-Shake is where we landed.  Here are the kids looking adorable.  (You should have seen the fight that ensued right before this picture was snapped!  Yikes.)

Day 307 - Baskeball Time Again!

I was so excited to find out that our local school district would allow Tyrus to play basketball at the High School each Saturday morning, even though he is a homeschooled student.  The lady I spoke with gave me no issues at all and said they would love to have him!  So, it's time to play the sport he loves most again!

Unfortunately, the one close up picture I took of him turned out all blurry, so this one will have to do!  (And yes, it's a borrowed picture from tomorrow since I have no pictures of today!)

Day 306 - Homeschooling in Progress

One thing that is really cool about HS is that it can be done anywhere!  We've schooled all over our house - not just at the kitchen table.  Today was laundry day, so Tyrus got his clipboard and worked on math as I folded clothes.
